Brian Yount, MD, FAAP and HealthGate’s Timothy McNamara, MD, MPH to Discuss Benefits and Use of Collaborative Technologies at HIMSS 2008

BURLINGTON, MASS., February 12, 2008 — HealthGate Data Corp. (www.healthgate.com) announced today that Brian Yount, MD, FAAP and Timothy McNamara, MD, MPH will be featured speakers at HIMSS 2008 in Orlando, Florida. Drs. Yount and McNamara will be discussing how document standardization, including order sets, clinical guidelines and protocols, improve the quality of healthcare services and are necessary to prepare organizations for major initiatives such as computerized provider order entry (CPOE).

The presentation features three areas of benefit to healthcare organizations: 1) why collaborative technologies in healthcare are not only necessary, but imperative; 2) available technologies that promote better collaboration; and, 3) lessons to be learned from one system’s successful implementation of a collaborative solution.

Also included in the presentation will be the results of a year-long survey of healthcare executives representing 60 major health systems regarding collaborative technologies and a case study featuring how one such organization, St. Francis Health System, Tulsa, Oklahoma, implemented HealthGate’s Collaboration Architect. Collaboration Architect, a web-based document and task management application, greatly accelerates the process of reviewing, editing and approving complex documents and other clinical, operational and support materials.

“We are pleased that experts such as Drs. Yount and McNamara will share the success enjoyed by St. Francis’ implementation of Collaboration Architect at such a prestigious and well-attended event as HIMSS,” said Bill Reece, HealthGate’s Chief Executive Officer. “Those attending the event and their respective organizations will certainly benefit from the presentation.”
