Hospital-wide Document Standardization Effort is Underway at Saint Francis Health System

Saint Francis Health System of Tulsa, Oklahoma, has implemented HealthGate’s Collaboration Architect to streamline the review and approval process of order sets, policies and procedures, and other clinical and operational documents. How Hospitals Can Prepare for Medicare’s End of Coverage

Hospitals bracing to absorb costs caused by Medicare’s recent rule changes can deploy HealthGate’s Nursing Guidelines to address quality of care. The list of conditions singled out by these new Medicare rules includes fall-related injuries; pressure ulcers; infections caused by catheters and others. HealthGate’s evidence-based set of Nursing Guidelines includes not only the care conditions identified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, but also other nursing topics ranging from acute pain management, medication error and ventilator management to patient education topics such as breastfeeding and smoking cessation.

Product Highlight: Collaboration Architect Task Management

One of the main attributes of a collaboration platform is its efficient management of tasks, so that a team of two or 50 can easily keep track of assigned tasks, review progress, delegate responsibilities and even decline tasks.

HealthGate’s Collaboration Architect’s Task Management is structured in three separate sections: My Tasks, All Tasks, and New Tasks. In each section, users can search, sort, and filter the tasks by topic, status, due date, task name, type and assigned to/by. With easy-to-navigate screens and plenty of options to work on tasks by clicking on icons, pulling down menus, or double-clicking on terms, users quickly become familiar with the rich set of functionality.

Access to centralized resources - The Tasks facility provides access to all Word documents, spreadsheets or e-mails upon login, which eliminates wasting time on searches for the right piece of documentation.

Progress notification - HealthGate’s Collaboration Engine automatically sends users an e-mail alerting them of a change in status, when they have been assigned a new task, or when a task is due, giving them total control of their own time without jeopardizing schedules.
