CMOs and CMIOs Say, "Money Is Not the Main Issue"

As a means to improving quality of care and in preparation for CPOE implementation, many healthcare organizations are looking to standardize, consolidate and manage large volumes of documentation. Oftentimes, the failure of such initiatives is quickly attributed to a lack of funding. We disagree, and so do the 60 hospital leaders who participated in our recent research study on committee work and efficiency in healthcare.

An impressive 64% of participants stated that they have the resources, skills and tools to better manage, consolidate and standardize documents; however, only 47% of participants reported investing adequate time, money and personnel to help these efforts succeed.

Product Highlight: Collaboration Architect One-click Task Access

Collaboration Architect’s one-click task access allows users to open an assigned task directly from their e-mail.

To meet the needs of sophisticated users, document management and collaboration technology applications (such as HealthGate’s Collaboration Architect) must offer a wide variety of features and tools. But, many users (especially clinicians who are critical participants in committees that review and approve documents) do not have the time to learn how to navigate and use all of the available functionality.

Collaboration Architect’s one-click task access feature addresses this challenge by allowing users to efficiently contribute and collaborate with other team members without the need for application-wide training. In many cases, users accessing tasks directly from their e-mail require no training at all.

Once at the task interface, users may change the status of an assigned task, view the task details page to check progress made on a given task by other team members, or log into the main application to access documents and perform a wider variety of activities based on their user account permissions.

These multiple “access points” support users with varying levels of technical sophistication and training needs, allowing for quick and easy interaction with the application and their colleagues.
