Using Behavior Change to Implement Quality Improvement
Presentation - Audio - Transcript

Implementing a quality improvement program in any culture can be a challenge, but there are ways that the fundamentals of behavior change, combined with the correct tools and information technology, can be used to pave the way for productive programs. Understanding the underlying rationale and process whereby a person modifies their thinking and practice can help healthcare leaders gain better insight into the reasons why people behave the way they do. It can also help them identify motivators for helping others adopt, change, and maintain desired behaviors—particularly as they relate to quality improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for when we are paving the way for success is:

  1. Do we have some of these characteristics, and if we don't, how can we still have successful performance improvement?
  2. Are there ways in which even if we don't have a culture of quality, if we don't have all the resources that we need, can we still be successful?

This presentation and accompanying audio will walk you through the steps to prepare your organization to become successful in its quality improvement programs.
